Flute Tuition

Jean Murray has a thriving flute teaching practice based in central Edinburgh, covering all ages & stages, and has many years’ experience teaching, conducting & coaching chamber music in a variety of schools and further education settings including St. George’s School, George Watson’s College, Fettes College, Strathallan School, St. Mary’s Music School, Napier Polytechnic (now Napier University) and St. Andrews University. She aims to help all her pupils enjoy music & fulfill their individual potential, often playing duets with them, accompanying them on the piano and encouraging them to join groups as appropriate. She believes that playing an instrument should be fun and satisfying, but that it won’t be unless you do it well. The more you enjoy playing, the more you will want to practise. The more you practise, the better you will become. The better you become, the more you will enjoy playing. The more you enjoy playing……
